DVD Drive not Detected? – Now, here is the Solution!

One ends up seeing that the DVD drive is not being detected in the windows explorer tab during numerous instances.   • When the device driver is missing or has been corrupted, the DVD drive is not detected.

  • When the device driver is loaded but the hardware is not found.

    These issues generally crop up when windows operating system is upgraded or a DVD recording program is installed or uninstalled. In addition, these problems crop up on uninstalling Microsoft Digital Image as well.

    Now, here are a few ways in which this problem can be solved:

    Use of Hardware and Devices trouble-shooter:

    Press Windows logo key + R to open the Run dialog box. In the dialog box, type control to open the control panel. In the control panel search box, type troubleshooter. After that, open troubleshooting option. Select Hardware and Sound and then configure a device.

    Use of DVD Fix it troubleshooter:

    DVD Fix it troubleshooter’ automatically solves all problems related to DVD drives. Open it, click Run Now and follow all the given instructions.

    Manual fixing of corrupted registry entries:

    Open the Run dialog box and type regedit in it. Click Allow, when prompted for permission.

    The following registry key has to be located in the navigation pane and then selected:


    Click UpperFilters, select edit and delete. Then, exit the registry editor and restart windows.

    Reinstall or update the device driver:

    In order to update the device driver, go to the company website of your DVD drive manufacturer and follow the given installation instructions.

    When reinstalling the driver, follow these steps:

    • Open Run dialog box by pressing Windows+R

    • Devmgmt.msc should be typed in the Run box. When prompted for permission, click Allow

    • After Device Manager is opened, expand DVD-ROM drives, right click it and select Uninstall

    • Click OK when asked for confirmation

    • Now, restart the computer. When the computer restarts, the device drivers for DVD drive will be automatically installed

The common problem that iPhone users may face problem after upgrading their operating system to Windows 7 is that the iPhone does not synchronise with Windows 7. As a result, iPhone does not synchronise with iTunes. This is mainly due to an irritating error known as ­0xE8000065 error. This problem, basically, arises in Intel P55 chipset systems.

Well, as it is a very common problem, it can be solved easily. Due to this error, iTunes is not able to connect with your iPhone. Moreover, the phone connects seamlessly but does not synchronize.

The 0xE8000065 unknown error is solved for most of the people, by disabling Windows 7 USB Power Management. In USB power management controls, turn off USB devices when not in use, which is a special feature of Windows 7. This feature of Windows 7 does not let the iPhone sync with Windows 7. As this USB Power Management feature offered by Windows 7 is not that important and sometimes, the Intel P55 chipset drivers are faulty that makes USB Power Management to malfunction. So, to avoid all confusions and problems, just turn off this feature.
